2013 RIACA Scholarships


Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 RIACA Scholarships!

Addison Chau,    Chariho Regional High School, Wood River Junction, RI;

Olivia Hallam,     Cumberland High School, RI;

Connie Wang,     South Kingston High School, Wakefield, RI;

Jasmine Lau,       Sharon High School, Sharon, MA;

Eddy Luo,           East Greenwich High School, RI.

Over twenty thousand dollars in awarded scholarships

The Scholarship Committee announced the winners of the 2013 RIACA Scholarships in a Press Release on April 3, 2013.

Six of the winners won $3,000 per person and three of them won $1,000 per person. This is the first time in the history of Rhode Island that Scholarships are awarded to recipients who show strong interest in Chinese culture and contributions to the local Chinese community.

The Award Ceremony was held on April 13, 2013 at China Inn Restaurant in Pawtucket. Keynote Speaker Congressman Judy Chu delivered an inspiring speech to 150 guests. In his appreciation remarks, Hans Wang of Barrington High described how he overcame the obstacles to gain outstanding leadership abilities and superb public speaking skills.
